The GOP is slowly inching toward dominating the 2022 midterm elections, according to a new report from Rasmussen that examined the Generic Congressional Ballot. Per their report, Republicans are holding a five-point lead as they move toward taking the reins of control away from the Democrats.

Rasmussen conducted their survey over the telephone and online among likely U.S. likely voters and found that if the elections were held today, 47 percent of those surveyed would vote for a Republican. In comparison, 42 percent would vote for a Democrat.

Interestingly, only 3 percent of those surveyed indicated that they would vote for an unspecified candidate, while 8 percent indicated that they were “not sure.”

According to Rasmussen, the margin of lead between Republicans and Democrats on the General Congressional Ballot has remained unchanged for the past week.

Heading into the midterm elections, President Donald Trump has traveled the country, endorsing and stumping for America First candidates like Arizona GOP gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake.

On Saturday, Trump held a supercharged Save America rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, urging voters to cast their ballots for his endorsed candidates, GOP Senate nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz and gubernatorial nominee Doug Mastriano.

“If you want to stop this destruction of America, you must vote Republican!” he declared to supporters who attended the event.

After the rally, President Trump shared a poll conducted by CD Media that found that in a hypothetical 2024 presidential election, Trump was leading Biden by seven points in the Keystone State.

As crushing hyperinflation and supply chain issues have crippled the U.S. economy since 2021, voters are indicating that they would prefer a Republican approach to America’s economic and foreign policy woes.

President Trump stated on Truth Social, “The USA is rapidly becoming a Third World Nation. Crooked Elections, No Borders, a Weaponized Justice Department & FBI, record setting INFLATION, highest ever Energy Prices (and everything else), and all, including our Military, is WOKE, WOKE, WOKE. Most dangerous time in the history of our Country!”
