A conservative filmmaker has released the trailer for a new Trump documentary coming to theaters on Sept. 27.
“Vindicating Trump,” a Dinesh D’Souza Media Production from SDG, offers a unique look at the 45th president just weeks ahead of his comeback bid for the White House.
“This film is a journey to discover the real Donald Trump, and to make the case for him as a man and as a leader. It begins with a puzzle. How can a man be so intensely loved and hated? Not since Lincoln have we had such a divisive figure on the national scene,” the film’s description states.
“The film also considers a danger that Lincoln warned about—the rise in America of a tyrant like Caesar who would promote lawlessness and subvert the foundations of our constitutional republic. Is Trump such a man?” it adds.
Trump took to Truth Social to highlight the film’s trailer on Monday, stating, “AMAZING!”
The film’s cast includes Trump himself offering a featured interview with D’Souza. Lara Trump, his daughter-in-law and co-chair of the Republican National Committee, is included, along with Trump attorney Alina Habba.
Cinematic scenes include actors Nick Searcy and Siaka Massaquoi. Searcy’s long list of film and television credits includes “Justified,” “Cast Away” and “Greater.” Massaquoi is known for his roles in “Lethal Weapon” and “Lady Ballers.”
“Vindicating Trump” also includes an upcoming book related to the film. The book releases on Oct. 8.
D’Souza is no newcomer to controversial films. His breakout film, “2016: Obama’s America,” shocked the box office, earning $33 million in 2012.
His previous documentary film, “2,000 Mules,” highlighted the reports of irregularities during the 2020 election. The documentary focused on issues related to ballot drop boxes and other voting concerns that have been the basis for Trump’s claims of a “rigged” election. D’Souza also released “Police State” in 2023.
“The story line of the film is to show that Trump’s enemies—the Left and the Democrats—are the real Caesar. They are the ones creating lawlessness at the highest levels of government. They despise Trump because he is the only one who has the power and the will to stop them,” the film’s description explains. The film is certain to generate strong views as Americans focus on presidential politics ahead of November’s election.
