President Donald Trump’s administration announced this week the expansion of TrumpRx.gov, giving Americans access to more than 600 generic medications at more transparent price points.
The expansion builds on an executive order signed by the president in May 2025, which brought “Most Favored Nations” drug pricing to Americans; this action brought down the cost of overpriced drugs in America to a more competitive price tag, similar to that of other nations.
The latest additions to TrumpRx allows patients to compare “best cash prices available to them at their local pharmacies and through delivery options offered by various private pharmacy programs.”
Generic drug pricing for these medications is separate from the branded drugs that were negotiated by President Trump last year through the “Most Favored Nations” transactions, the White House said.
Some of these generic medications include “atorvastatin (a cholesterol medication), clopidogrel (a blood thinner), lisinopril (a medication for high blood pressure), and metformin (a diabetes medication).”
Currently, TrumpRx is easy to access, allowing patients to search for their desired medications and see if they are available at a discounted price.
At a recent event highlighting the achievements of the price-lowering effort, President Trump said, “Outside of maybe, a cure itself, it’s the biggest thing to happen to healthcare and everything having to do with medical in any way, shape or form, there’s never been anything like this. Think of it, we went from the most expensive to the least expensive.”
Mark Cuban – a longtime critic of President Trump – attended the event and acknowledged the impact that cheaper medications could have on Americans’ health. Cuban is the owner of Cost Plus Drug Company, a participating entity in the TrumpRx program.
“Other than you, I’ve been the biggest proponent of TrumpRX.com, and the reason for that is Republicans want cheaper drugs, Independents want cheaper drugs, Democrats want cheaper drugs, and together, I think we’re going to do something special,” Cuban said.
He said that 559 of the generic drugs currently on TrumpRx come from the Cost Plus Drug Company.
