Amid speculation of foul play concerning the mysterious disappearances of high-level U.S. experts and military officials, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has promised to investigate the matter and follow up.
When asked by a reporter on Wednesday about the disappearances or unusual deaths of ten American scientists linked to high-level research, like nuclear or aerospace technology development, Leavitt said, “I’ve seen the report…I haven’t spoken to our relevant agencies about it. I will certainly do that, and we’ll get you an answer. If true, of course, I think that’s definitely something this administration would deem worth looking into.”
A later segment on Fox News expanded on the situation, reporting that there are at least ten individuals who have either oddly disappeared or died since 2023.
One of those individuals, for example, is Ret. Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland, last seen in February. He left his phone and wearable devices at home, investigators said, and simply disappeared, per Newsweek. Aerospace engineer Monica Reza has also vanished. According to the outlet, she previously worked on a government project managed by Gen. McCasland.
Fox News’ Jesse Watters reported in March that the general oversaw a classified “space weapons” program, as well as a research lab in Ohio that is rumored to store material from the 1947 Roswell crash, which is heavily linked to speculation about extraterrestrial activity.
The disappearances have sparked concern and conspiratorial discourse online, with some suggesting these vanishings or deaths could be part of a broader operation, perhaps foreign.
“It’s bizarre. I go through various potential scenarios. These are large organizations. Could these be coincidences? I think we might have passed that threshold,” State Department analyst Marik von Rennenkampff observed, via NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports.”
Presently, there is no confirmed link between any of these deaths or disappearances.
