A Wisconsin teenager allegedly killed his parents as part of a plot to assassinate President Donald Trump, the FBI reported.

Nikita Casap, 17, was taken into custody in March and faces multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of concealing a corpse, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. Additional state charges include theft of property exceeding $10,000 and identity fraud for financial gain.

Investigators are also pursuing federal charges, which reportedly involve conspiracy, an alleged plot to assassinate the president, and the use of weapons of mass destruction, according to court filings.

Authorities discovered the bodies of Casap’s stepfather, 51-year-old Donald Mayer, and mother, 35-year-old Tatiana Casap, inside their residence on March 1, as stated in a release from the sheriff’s office.

“Casap appears to have written a manifesto calling for the assassination of the President of the United States. He was in touch with other parties about his plan to kill the President and overthrow the government of the United States,” the search warrant said. “The killing of his parents appeared to be an effort to obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary to carrying out his plan.”

The federal affidavit said that the teenager was also in contact with other people or groups to obtain materials to use in his attack, including a drone and explosives.

“He was in touch with other parties about his plan to kill the President and overthrow the government of the United States. And he paid for, at least in part, a drone and explosives to be used as a weapon of mass destruction to commit an attack,” investigators said in the federal affidavit.

“Other parties, with whom Casap was in contact, appear to have been aware of his plan and action and to have provided assistance to Casap in carrying them out,” according to the affidavit.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutors alleged Casap was in contact with a person who speaks Russian and shared a plan to flee to Ukraine. Casap is scheduled for arraignment on May 7.
