In December, a shocking report confirmed that more than 300,000 illegal migrants had been encountered at the U.S. southern border, marking a historic low point in American history as far as sovereignty goes.

Border Patrol apprehensions accounted for nearly 250,000 of that number, Fox News’ Bill Melugin reported on Tuesday, highlighting the jaw-dropping 785,000 migrant encounters at the border in the first quarter of 2024.

According to a report from Homeland Security Republicans, encounters at the southwest border increased by 40 percent in 2021, correlating with Joe Biden’s arrival to the Oval Office.

Their report also noted that there have been 7.5 million migrant encounters nationwide, but between October 2023 and December 2023, that number swelled by another 785,000.

With millions of illegal migrants crossing the border from all four corners of the earth, it seems unthinkable that America could even call herself a sovereign nation at this point. With no border to speak of, there is no way to know who is pouring into the country.

President Donald Trump recently postulated that as many as 16 million people will have poured over the open border by the end of Joe Biden’s term in office.

The most pressing issue

Today, the open border is the most pressing issue that the United States is facing. With simple executive action, Joe Biden could close the border, but he has chosen to leave it wide open. In doing so, he has effectively exposed Americans to millions of unvetted and unknown migrants, many of whom have brought human trafficking, drugs (like fentanyl), and gang violence to U.S. streets.

Joe Biden has pointedly expedited the erosion of American strength with his catastrophic open border policies, putting the country in extreme danger of potential terrorist incursion.

“They [Biden and his administration] have turned America into a haven for bloodthirsty criminals [and] savage gang members,” Trump explained in December.

Indeed, amid the ongoing bloody violence in the Middle East, pro-jihadist sympathies have even arisen in the domestic U.S., and it is chilling to think that potential jihadist terrorists or their ilk have likely swept across the border unchallenged.

Just as concerning is the influx of illegal Chinese migrants who have crossed the border. In fact, The New York Times reported in November 2023 that more than 24,000 Chinese citizens had been apprehended at the border, noting that this represents more Chinese apprehensions than the last ten years combined.

Many international migrants who are crossing are also young and male, which presents a dangerous possible scenario. “…The perfect age for an army: is that what they’re doing?” Trump asked last year.

While the southern border remains unsecured and hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants continue to flood into the United States, President Donald Trump has presented a safe, secure, and common sense agenda for reversing the horrific damage inflicted by Joe Biden’s attack on American sovereignty.

The agenda

President Trump ran heavily on “building the wall” at the southern border in 2016. While in office, he fought tooth and nail to kick start the construction of the project, and before his untimely departure from office in 2021, built 458 miles of new border wall and contracted to continue the construction of 206 miles of primary and secondary wall.

Since Joe Biden has thrown the doors to America wide open, illegal immigration has surpassed all preceding historic thresholds, and now, the United States will be forced to face the fallout of such devastating policies.

As president again upon a prospective 2024 victory in November, Trump has laid out a clear and simple agenda that will attack the illegal invasion head-on, utilizing a no-holds-barred approach inspired by President Eisenhower and even the Founding Fathers.

  • Trump will greenlight the largest deportation operation in American history, eclipsing President Eisenhower’s 1950s-era operation by many millions. “We’re going to SEND THEM BACK – we’re going to send them OUT of our country,” Trump has promised. This will include deputizing the National Guard and local law enforcement to assist in the operation.
  • He will implement stringent ideological screening for legal immigrants. Trump explained last fall, “We will implement strong ideological screening for ALL immigrants to the United States. No longer will we allow dangerous lunatics, haters, bigots, and maniacs to get residency in our country.” This will protect the country from jihadists and jihadist sympathizers and is also aimed at protecting Jews on American soil from anti-Semitic migrants who may intend to bring destructive ideology to the United States.
  • Trump will once more end “catch-and-release” policies and restore his successful Migrant Protection Protocols, also known as “Remain in Mexico,” to ensure that asylum seekers are expelled from the country while waiting for their immigration court date.
  • He will “show no mercy on the cartels” feeding violence and death into American society. The president has stated that he will “deploy all necessary military assets, including the U.S. Navy, to impose a full naval embargo on the cartels.” He will also direct the U.S. Department of Defense to use special forces, cyber warfare, and other actions to maximize damage on the infrastructure of the cartels. He’ll additionally ask Congress to pass legislation making human trafficking and drug trafficking crimes punishable by death.
  • He will invoke the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act. Originally introduced in 1798, it would give him the authority to deport aliens harboring anti-American sympathies in emergency scenarios.

In a new op-ed written by President Trump for the Des Moines Register, Trump explained why he was the best choice in the Republican primary to fix the border crisis. He wrote, “We do not have time for on-the-job training. Unlike every other candidate, with me, there is no question. I promise you that I will get this job done.”

When it comes to the border, no one else is as qualified as President Trump to immediately assess the southern border crisis and act swiftly to redress the devastating damage that it has done to this country. He will take action on day one, and America’s border will be secure once again with Trump back in the White House.
