President Donald Trump is expected to host the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers at the White House on July 23, according to multiple reports.
The visit will recognize the Dodgers’ second straight World Series title and continue the longstanding tradition of championship teams being honored by the president, the New York Post reported.
A White House official told the newspaper the visit is scheduled during an off day between the Dodgers’ three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies and a subsequent series with the New York Mets.
“President Trump is excited to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers BACK to the White House to celebrate their World Series championship!” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said in a statement.
The announcement follows months of speculation over whether the defending champions would make the trip.
Manager Dave Roberts said during the offseason that he planned to accept a White House invitation, continuing the team’s tradition of participating in the ceremony.
“I’m going. I respect the position. It’s the highest office in our country and the world, so I’m looking forward to it,” Roberts said.
The Dodgers were unable to visit during their April series against the Washington Nationals because of scheduling conflicts. The team’s July East Coast road trip ultimately provided an opportunity to hold the event.
The franchise previously visited the White House in April 2025 after capturing the 2024 World Series title. During that ceremony, President Trump praised the organization and highlighted Japanese star Shohei Ohtani, commending both his on-field accomplishments and his “movie star” appearance.
Veteran pitcher Clayton Kershaw defended the tradition at the time, saying the experience rises above political differences.
“Getting to go to the White House, getting to see the Oval Office, getting to meet the president of the United States, that’s stuff that you can’t lose sight of, no matter what you believe,” Kershaw said after the previous visit.
