Conservative talk show host Dan Bongino announced that he would be leaving the video platform YouTube to move fully to the platform Rumble after YouTube said that Bongino was spreading false Covid-19 misinformation.
Then the platform said that they would be banning him after “trying to evade suspension,” according to his Twitter.
“We terminated Dan Bongino’s channels for circumventing our Terms of Service by posting a video while there was an active strike and suspension associated with the account,” a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “When a channel receives a strike, it is against our Terms of Service to post content or use another channel to circumvent the suspension.”
The Dan Bongino Show told the publication that the video that was cited for the suspension was “Why I’m Leaving YouTube.”
The statement about masks that was made in the video from Bongino’s channel was “widely accepted scientific dogma,” Bongino claimed, and had even pulled an old video of Dr. Fauci saying similar comments.
The conservative talk show host told the Examiner, “Interesting watching them try to spin this to try to save face,” he said. “Their stupidity is one of the main reasons I invested in Rumble. Rumble actually believes in free speech.”
Bongino boasts over two million subscribers on the new platform that conservatives turned to after the 2020 election. At the Conservative Political Action Conference in February of 2021, Bongino pledged to support critical tech infrastructure to offer other options for conservatives getting censored on mainstream platforms.
Fame came for the former New York police officer and Secret Service agent after he joined Fox News as a contributor in 2019 and often appeared on the primetime Hannity show before landing his own program on Fox, Unflitered with Dan Bongino. He now hosts his own radio show The Dan Bongino Show and a podcast Bongino Report.
“What’s happening right now across social media is exactly why @dbongino invested in @rumblevideo. Conservatives must become uncancellable,” the Bongino Report tweeted on Wednesday.
