POTUS Slams Minneapolis Mayor for Trying to Shut Down Rally

President Trump blasts Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for attempting to shut down the next Trump rally, scheduled for October 10.

The president took to twitter Tuesday saying, “The lightweight mayor is hurting the great police and other wonderful supporters. 72,000 ticket requests already. Dump Frey and Omar! Make America Great Again!”

His remarks come shortly after Frey told the Target center, the site for the upcoming campaign rally, it would be responsible for $530,000 in security charges and other unforeseen costs.

The Trump campaign released a press release regarding the matter saying, “The Target Center attempted to pass the costs on to the Trump campaign under threat of withholding the use of the arena.”

The press release outlines the security costs are handled between Secret Service and city officials, and the projected $530,000 demand is exponentially higher than what Barack Obama’s estimate was at only $20,000 back in 2009.

The Trump campaign has made it clear if it adheres to this demand, the next course of action is to take it to the courts since it would be considered a breach of contract.

The head of President Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign, Brad Parscale, has also weighed in on the situation calling Frey’s demand an “outrageous abuse of power by a liberal mayor.”

Parscale continued by saying the move would “deny the rights of his own city’s residents just because he hates the President!”

The Trump rally is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday at the Target Center in Minneapolis, which is located in Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home district.
