The Trump campaign announces the next presidential rally will take place on October 10th in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to continue to garner support for President Trump’s 2020 reelection efforts.
The campaign made the announcement Thursday saying it will take place at the Target Center, in Rep. Ilhan Omar’s district, with the president’s slated remarks to begin at 7 p.m. CDT.
The announcement comes as the Trump campaign has started to begin efforts to flip the historically blue state red, and garner the 10 electoral votes for President Trump in the upcoming election.
The Trump campaign’s press secretary Kayleigh McEnany spoke to local media regarding the upcoming visit saying, “We expect this to be a packed house with many thousands waiting outside as is often the case.”
According to McEnany, President Trump is expected to discuss the ongoing economic boom, and how it has impacted both job growth and the manufacturing revival within the state.
According to the Trump campaign, the state of Minnesota has endured a decreased unemployment rate and an additional 56,100 jobs.
Meanwhile, Rep. Ilhan Omar slammed the president via twitter following the announcement saying, “Our beautiful state welcomes everyone with open arms. But to be clear: we will continue to reject you and your campaign of lies and bigotry.”
The Target Center has a seating capacity of around 20,000 seats, which does not include standing room.
No Republican president has secured Minnesota’s electoral votes since Richard Nixon back in 1972.
