Green Beret Pat Harrigan slammed Minnesota Governor and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz for exaggerating his military service for political gain.
The comments were shared in a video posted Thursday on the social media platform X.
Harrigan discussed why many American veterans are raising the alarm about Walz. He explained that while many people may respect Walz for his 20 years in service, his actions are not as honorable as they seem.
Walz, who is Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate, has a questionable record, including an arrest for drunk and reckless driving. On X, Harrigan wrote, “If VP Harris genuinely cared about integrity and honesty, she would immediately drop Tim Walz.”
The controversy began after NBC Washington reported that President Donald Trump’s vice president nominee, JD Vance, had called out Walz after clips resurfaced of him talking about gun control.
NBC reported that Walz had said, “We can make sure that those weapons of war, that I carried in war, is the only place where those weapons are at.” It was later revealed that Walz was never deployed to a combat zone. JD Vance had called it “stolen valor.”
Harrigan told the audience during his speech, “Tim Walz is a coward who betrayed his men at their greatest time of need and is not fit to serve the United States of America as Vice President.”
Harrigan also shared a post to X where he wrote, “No one who ever served in the military—past, present, or future—will ever be able to trust or respect Tim Walz.”
He also wrote that Walz’s dishonesty “ brings discredit and dishonor upon himself, the state of Minnesota, and the United States of America.”
