Pastor Lorenzo Sewell delivered a prayer during the swearing in ceremony of President Donald Trump on Monday. Sewell, a Detroit pastor, hosted Trump at his church during the campaign.

During the prayer, Sewell gave thanks to God for sparing Trump’s in an apparent reference to the assassination attempt against President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“Heavenly Father we’re so grateful that you gave our 45th and now our 47th President a a millimeter miracle,” said Sewell.

Sewell continued to deliver an impassioned prayer lifting up the new Trump administration.

“We are grateful that you are the one that have called him for such a time as this, that America would begin to dream again,” Sewell said.

Sewell’s prayer referenced the famous “I Have a Dream” speech given by Martin Luther King Jr.

“We pray that we would fulfill the true meaning of our creed, that we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,” Sewell said. “We pray that you use our President, that we will live in a nation where we will not be judged by the color of our skin but by the content of our character.”

Sewell closed his prayer with a call to the audience, “Put your hands together and give your great God great glory.”
