A former Democrat Virginia delegate who once interrupted President Trump’s speech to call him corrupt is now in trouble for fraudulently obtaining a mountain of COVID-19 relief funds, highlighting the hypocrisy of the left.
According to Breitbart, 34-year-old Ibraheem Samirah (D-VA) is facing three years of probation and must pay nearly $89,000 in restitution, as per his sentencing on October 30. The report from WRIC read:
“According to court records, Samirah devised and participated in “a scheme to defraud Sonabank and the SBA [Small Business Association],” through which he obtained money and property from them through fraudulent means. This included materially false pretenses and representations about NHS, as well as fake IRS tax and payroll documents.”
The report also revealed that Samirah had applied for a loan on behalf of a business titled Nova Healthy Smile (NHS) using his residential address, and that application was approved for $83,000 from Sonabank for NHS. To successfully get the loan, Samirah had lied about there being four employees at NHS.
“None of the four purported employees received funds from NHS prior to May 2020,” the report had concluded. According to the report, Samirah spent the money on personal expenses and later secured forgiveness for the loans in August 2021.
The irony of this scandal is that Samirah was one of the hecklers who interrupted President Trump’s speech at the 400th Anniversary of the Joint Commemorative Session of the Virginia General Assembly in 2029. At the time, Breitbart had reported that “Samirah won a special election to represent a northern Virginia district, which includes areas in Loudon and Fairfax counties. The lawmaker said in a statement that he believes his constituents would prefer he protest, rather than ‘passively accept’ President Trump’s inclusion in the historic event.”
In his remarks, Samirah had implied that President Trump was corrupt, and yet it’s the Democrat who has been found guilty of stealing much-needed funds from American citizens. Samirah’s actions are a reflection of how the left is continuously trying to frame President Trump and Republicans as the “bad guys” when they should be more concerned about their party.
