President Donald Trump’s campaign announced the addition of former 2016 campaign manager Corey Lewandowski on Thursday.
President Trump’s co-campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita shared the news in a press release regarding the “home stretch” of the presidential campaign.
“As we head into the home stretch of this election, we are continuing to add to our impressive campaign team,” they wrote, according to Politico.
Lewandowski is one of the “veterans of prior Trump campaigns, and their unmatched experience will help President Trump prosecute the case against Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the most radical ticket in American history.”
According to The Hill, Lewandowski has been a longtime Trump ally who previously worked with the campaign in an advisory role for the Republican convention. In 2021, he served in various roles in President Trump’s campaign.
Trump’s campaign has also added other new team members. The recent staffing hires included Taylor Budowich, also a former Trump aide who has been running the super PAC MAGA Inc.
In June of last year, Budowich said, “America has become a sick and broken nation—a decline led by Joe Biden and power-hungry Democrats.”
In addition to Lewandowski and Budowich, Trump’s campaign welcomed former campaign allies Alex Pfeiffer, Alex Bruesewitz and Tim Murtaugh.
With these additions, the Trump campaign will seek to grow its lead against Vice President Kamala Harris. The latest Rasmussen Reports poll showed Trump with 49 percent and Harris at 45 percent.
