President Donald Trump is expected to call for a “revolution of common sense” during his inaugural address on Monday, according to excerpts of his prepared remarks.
The Wall Street Journal revealed the emphasis of Trump’s speech on Monday ahead of the Inauguration Day ceremony in Washington, D.C.
“I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the start of a thrilling new era of national success. A tide of change is sweeping the country. My message to Americans today is that it is time for us to once again act with courage, vigor and the vitality of history’s greatest civilization,” Trump is expected to say.
He will take the oath of office at 12 p.m. EST, led by the Chief Justice of the United States, John Roberts. Originally scheduled in front of the U.S. Capitol, the ceremony has been moved indoors within the congressional complex due to extreme cold.
After being sworn in as president on Monday, Trump intends to issue a series of executive orders to assert his administration’s agenda on key issues such as energy and immigration.
According to sources familiar with the planning, over 100 orders and directives could be unveiled starting on his first day in office, as part of an internally dubbed “shock and awe” strategy.
Trump also reportedly plans to pen an order to reinstate the popular Chinese-owned social media platform for 90 days by extending the period before the law’s prohibition took effect, RSBN previously reported.
Trump is proposing a deal with the “United States to have 50% ownership in a joint venture. By doing this, we save TikTok, keep it in good hands, and allow it to stay up. Without U.S. approval, there is no TikTok. With our approval, it is worth hundreds of billions of dollars – maybe even trillions.”
Trump continued, “Therefore, my initial thought is a joint venture between the current owners and/or new owners whereby the U.S. gets a 50% ownership in a joint venture set up between the U.S. and whichever purchase we so choose.”
