President Donald Trump found himself in court again on Thursday morning, where he attended a hearing in the ongoing “hush money” case that was levied against him last year.

“Heading to yet another Courthouse in Manhattan on a case that would have never been brought if I wasn’t running for Pres.,” he wrote on Truth Social, confirming his intention to be in court.

The president added, “The Biden DOJ has its top person here in charge. Case should have never been brought, there is no crime. They want it before Election – Could have been brought 3 years ago. They waited until Election Period. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”

The so-called “hush money” case is one of several legal venues where Trump is fighting “election interference.” In this case, the president is facing 34 counts of allegedly “falsifying” business records dating back to the 2016 presidential campaign.

The New York Times reported on Thursday morning that the defense’s request to have the trial dismissed was denied. The case is currently being overseen by Judge Juan Merchan.

Before heading into the courtroom, President Trump stopped and offered his comments to the gathered members of the press, explaining his side of the story, criticizing rising crime in New York, and again labeling the case as “election interference.”

“This is not a crime,” Trump said. “And when you look at what’s going on outside on the streets, where violent crime is at an all-time high, I think it’s very…it’s a great double standard.”

He continued, “The other thing – this case could [have] been brought three years ago. There IS NO case. They decided not to bring it. The District Attorney Bragg didn’t want to bring it…we’re here for something that is NOT a crime.”

The president blamed Joe Biden for ultimately driving the legal attack against him, stating, “his top person was placed here in order to make sure everything goes right – this is a terrible time for our country.”
