Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump is faltering fast

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of President Donald Trump hit another rough patch recently amidst accusations from defense lawyer Emil Bove that the DA’s office allegedly deleted phone call records pertinent to the case.

According to The Epoch Times, paralegal Jaden Jarmel-Schneider testified last week that around three pages of phone call records between porn actress Stormy Daniels and convicted felon and ex-lawyer Michael Cohen were deleted by DA Bragg’s office.

Those records, which have been submitted as evidence by the prosecution, represent a red flag to some critics of the case who see the omission of the alleged deletions as a form of evidence tampering.

“Evidence tampering is a crime,” wrote award-winning journalist Lara Logan on X.

“This trial becomes more insane by the day,” commented Greg Price of the State Freedom Caucus Network.

Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, also remarked on social media, “Insanity! How on earth is this not a felony committed by Bragg and his minions? It sure would be if team Trump did it.”

In the ongoing “hush money” trial, President Trump has been silenced with an expansive gag order that bars him from speaking about prosecutors, witnesses, jurors, court staff officials, or their families. This has significantly limited his ability to comment on the case, and he is the only individual in the trial who has been gagged.

Law professor Jonathan Turley also suggested last week that presiding Judge Juan Merchan was, perhaps, “crossing the line” when he suggested that former Trump CFO Allen Weisselberg should testify for the prosecution.

Turley also scorched the gag order against Trump, noting the lopsided nature of the order. Per RSBN, the law expert explained, “I mean, this is the weekend before he [Michael Cohen] appears on the stand. So, I would have expected at a minimum that the judge would have been very clear at the beginning of the case that these witnesses are asked not to make public statements.”

On Monday, the prosecution brought Michael Cohen to the stand as a witness, highlighting yet another weak point in the case. Cohen formerly served as Trump’s lawyer and allegedly played a key role in the so-called “hush money” payment made to porn actress Stormy Daniels as well as a supposed “catch-and-kill” operation related to playboy bunny Karen McDougal.

However, Cohen is a convicted felon and an admitted liar, so it is unclear how his witness will bring any credibility to Bragg’s continued prosecutorial efforts.

Shortly before entering the courtroom on Monday morning, President Trump eviscerated the trial, accusing the lawfare of stemming from the Executive Office.

He stated, “They have their top people here because he [Joe Biden] can’t put two sentences together – he’s the worst president in the history of our country. He can’t speak, can’t walk off a helicopter, can’t walk off a plane, can’t walk off a stage. And the only way they think they can win is if they can do something with Trump.”
