As expected, the Republican National Committee said farewell to outgoing Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and welcomed America First leaders Michael Whatley and Lara Trump into the fold on Friday.
In the wake of his successful election as chairman of the RNC, Trump-endorsed North Carolinian Michael Whatley issued a statement on X.
He wrote, “Thank you to the 168 members of the RNC and President Trump for entrusting me to serve as RNC Chairman. We are already well on our way to making Joe Biden a one-term President, and I look forward to working with every Republican to deliver victories up and down the ballot!”
He continued, “.@LaraLeaTrump and I are steadfast in our commitment to get out the vote, protect the ballot, and elect Donald J. Trump and Republicans from coast to coast this November.”
Upon taking the stage as co-chair, Lara Trump stated, “We have to raise a LOT of money.” She proceeded to show off a six-figure check that was donated on Friday, in light of the leadership transfer.
“We’re starting TODAY, folks!” she declared.
Upon her departure, former RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told the crowd assembled that she was “stepping aside today because I have long promised to put the nominee and their plans for the RNC first. Winning the White House back is just too important for me to do otherwise.”
As previously reported by RSBN, Trump Senior Advisor Chris LaCivita has been endorsed by the president for the position of chief operating officer. He would work alongside Chairman Whatley and Co-Chair Lara Trump to maximize Republican fundraising in 2024 and focus on get-out-the-vote efforts.
