America’s 250th birthday is just around the corner, and as the historic milestone approaches, America 250 – the official organization spearheading the nationwide semiquincentennial – is inviting citizens to join together in unity to celebrate.
The organization launched the official “America’s Block Party” mobile app this month. The app provides a digital platform for citizens to “find, join, and host celebrations, explore events near them and tune into livestream moments across the country leading up to and throughout the July 4 holiday weekend,” a website announcement from America 250 stated.
The app encourages Americans to attend local events and mix and mingle with their neighbors and friends. The website advertised the block party effort as the “largest synchronized Fourth of July celebration in history.”
“With this app, every American can take part, no matter where they are,” said America 250 Chair Rosie Rios in an official statement. “From neighborhood block parties to national moments, we are building a shared experience that brings our country together and invites people to celebrate, connect and give back.”
The app is available for both Android and iOS devices, the organization said.
To host a block party, Americans can sign up on the official website and even have their event added to the “official America’s Block Party map.”
“America’s Block Party is a once-in-a-generation nationwide celebration powered by communities like yours,” the website portal proclaimed. “Whether it’s a backyard cookout, a block party, a family gathering, or a town festival, your event helps bring America’s 250th to life. Big or small. Public or private. Every celebration counts. This is how a country celebrates – together.”
American anniversary events have already kicked off, ramping up the excitement for July 4, 2026. Just last Sunday, thousands of Americans gathered on the National Mall for a special faith-focused celebration, “Rededicate 250.”
Next month, the White House will also play host to a historic sporting event, “UFC Freedom 250.” The event, scheduled for Sunday, June 14, additionally marks President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.
“They’re building an arena, the great Dana White is building an arena,” President Trump said in 2025 of the upcoming event, per RSBN. “They are going to have eight or nine championship fights. It’s the biggest fights they’ve ever had; every fight is a championship fight.”
America’s Block Party will also have an official “live broadcast stage” at One Times Square in New York to welcome the historic 250th Independence Day. An additional family-friendly concert event will be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in California on July 4th, according to the event site.
