Attorney Sidney Powell, whose name became a lightning rod for conversations of election irregularities in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, has won big in a decision upheld recently in a Texas appellate court, marking the second big win for the lawyer over the past year.

According to Reuters, the Fifth Court of Appeals in Texas ruled that “state bar prosecutors” could not prove that Powell engaged in any “fraud” or “misrepresentation” when she filed legal challenges against Joe Biden’s 2020 election results in multiple states.

This comes after a Texas judge ruled in 2023 that Powell did not violate any laws by filing the cases in question, despite a lawsuit from the State Bar of Texas Commission, RSBN previously reported.

The bar association had alleged that Powell made six ethical violations in the suits filed. She explained last year, “Full discovery ensued with multiple depositions, our production of more than 55,000 pages of documents & a massive privilege log. Yesterday the Texas Judge applied settled law and held that the Bar had NO evidence as a matter of law that I violated any rule in our four election fraud cases.”

In the appellate court’s recent April decision to uphold last year’s ruling, they described prosecutors’ approach to the case against Powell as “scattershot.”

On X, Powell wrote, “We won!! The Texas Bar has no evidence I violated any ethical rule in filing the four federal suits after the 2020 election. Thank you all for your support. Sidney[.]”

This win in court represents a big victory for Powell, who was also charged alongside President Trump and multiple other co-defendants in a Georgia-based election interference case spearheaded by embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Per RSBN, Powell pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor charges in the case as part of a plea deal that would allow her to avoid jail time and instead settle for 100 hours of community service, five years of probation, and several thousand dollars in “restitution.”

Trump wrote about the lawyer last fall:

“Sidney Powell was one of millions and millions of people who thought, and in ever increasing numbers still think, correctly, that the 2020 Presidential Election was RIGGED & STOLLEN, AND OUR COUNTRY IS BEING ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED BECAUSE OF IT!!!”
