Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump, is reportedly set to wade into the political waters in 2024, marking a doubleheader of milestones for the 18-year-old who will be graduating from high school in May.
According to a report from Politico, Barron, along with siblings Donald Trump Jr., Tiffany Boulous, nee Trump, and brother-in-law Michael Boulous, has been selected as an at-large delegate for the Republican Party of Florida.
Delegates will attend the Republican National Convention in July and cast their votes for President Donald Trump, the party’s nominee.
Over the years, young Barron has remained an enigmatic figure to many Americans. He was only 10 years old when his father became President of the United States in 2017 and has avoided public appearances as he has grown up attending school and having an otherwise normal life.
Recently, Barron accompanied his mother, First Lady Melania Trump, and his father to an Easter party at Mar-a-Lago in early March, looking sharp in a dark suit and a yellow tie. Following the youngest Trump’s recent 18th birthday, there has been plenty of chatter among conservatives and Trump supporters about whether the soon-to-be high school graduate would move toward political involvement.
This spring, President Donald Trump avoided nearly missing his son’s high school graduation amidst an ongoing criminal trial in New York City. Initially, RSBN reported that presiding Judge Juan Merchan seemed to hint that he would not allow the president to attend Barron’s May 17 graduation, but he later switched gears and appeared to indicate that the date wouldn’t be a problem.
Barron Trump will be graduating from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, next week. Last fall, President Trump told commentator and journalist Megyn Kelly that his youngest son was 6 feet 8 inches tall and shared that he was a “good athlete” and student.
On the subject of college, it’s unclear where Barron will be attending, but some have speculated that it could be his father’s alma mater, the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.
“We’re thinking about that right now, those are the things we’re talking about,” President Trump told Kelly in 2023.
