Biden defends handling of Afghanistan withdrawal despite scathing criticism by Gold Star families

Joe Biden said during a press conference on Tuesday that he “respectfully” disagrees with criticism of his administration’s decisions on the Afghanistan withdrawal which resulted in hundreds of casualties, including 13 U.S. troops.

“I take responsibility for the decision,” Biden stated. “Now some say we ‘should’ve started mass evacuations sooner’ and ‘couldn’t have this been done in a more orderly manner?’ I respectfully disagree.”

Biden’s tone-deaf doubling down on his approach to withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan, which he says could not have been done “more orderly,” disrespectfully ignores the fact that 13 American troops died, 18 were wounded, and more than 100 U.S. citizens remain stranded in the country. Furthermore, nearly 200 Afghans trying to escape the country also died in the suicide bombing targeting U.S. troops.

Instead of accepting full responsibility for these horrific tragedies, Biden attempted to celebrate the “end” of a war that he seems to have surrendered. He also touted the fact that 90 percent of Americans were rescued from the region, while ignoring that 10 percent of U.S. citizens, including children, were left behind.

As Biden continues to avoid the consequences of his deadly mishandling of troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, families of the 13 U.S. troops who were violently killed during a terrorist attack in Kabul have openly condemned Biden and his actions.

“I hope you burn in hell! That was my brother,” a sister of a slain U.S. troop reportedly yelled at Biden on Sunday as families of the fallen service members gathered to receive the remains of their loved ones during the dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base, according to Breitbart.

Mark Schmitz, who is the father of late Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, criticized Biden in an interview with the Washington Post.

“It’s got to be difficult. I’m not saying it was easy at all. But you can’t run up and hug someone as if you had nothing to do with it. It’s not going to work that way when you’re commander-in-chief,” said Schmitz slamming Biden’s lack of accountability.

Mother of late 20-year-old Marine Rylee McCollum ripped Biden during a radio show on Blaze TV calling him a “feckless, dementia-ridden piece of crap” that sent her son to die.

“That feckless, dementia-ridden piece of crap just sent my son to die,” Kathy McCollum said on Friday. “I woke up at four o’clock this morning, two Marines at my door telling me my son was dead. So, to have her on right before me and listen to that piece of crap talk about diplomatic crap with frickin’ Taliban terrorists who just freakin blew up my son and no, nothing, to not say anything about, ‘Oh my god, I’m so sorry for families.’ So, my son is gone.”

“I never thought in a million years [my son] would die for nothing, for nothing, because that feckless, dementia-ridden piece of crap who decided he wanted a photo-op on September 11th,” she continued. “That’s what kills me. I wanted my son to represent our country, to fight for my country. But I never thought that a feckless piece of crap would send him to his death and smirk on television while he’s talking about people dying with his nasty smirk. The dementia-ridden piece of crap needs to be removed from office. It never would have happened under Trump.”

After tearing Biden to shreds, McCollum proceeded to condemn all Democrats who voted for Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

“You just killed my son, with a dementia-ridden piece of crap who doesn’t even know he’s in the White House,” she said. “He still thinks he’s a senator…You did this to my son, every Democrat that’s listening, you did this to my son.”
