Joe Biden has not gained popularity with American voters in 2024, and in the great state of Minnesota, the polls have shown that he is consistently losing steam with general election voters this year.
According to an average of eight polls aggregated by Decision Desk HQ, Biden’s lead has shrunk to just 4.1 percent. Singular polls have mostly reflected this data, as well, regarding Biden’s numbers. For example, data from SurveyUSA showed Biden with a slim two-point lead over Trump in Minnesota in April. In February, that same pollster showed Biden leading by four points, illustrating Biden’s two-point drop over two months.
Biden’s flailing poll numbers in states that should otherwise be slam-dunk wins for Democrats in 2024 likely reflect the national attitude toward the man in the Oval Office as the country struggles under economic chaos and foreign woes.
According to a new CNN poll, 66 percent of Americans disapprove of “Bidenomics” and 70 percent believe that the economy is in “poor condition.” Such a bleak outlook from Americans during an election year is doing no favors to Joe Biden, who is running against President Trump’s economic record.
Nationwide, RealClear Politics’ averages favor Trump over Biden, especially in states like Wisconsin, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Georgia, and North Carolina. Each one of these states are key battlegrounds for Trump and Biden, and if the 45th president’s momentum holds on November 5, he will be in a solid position to sweep the electoral slate clean.
RCP’s current projection postulated that Trump would win the general election with 312 electoral college votes compared to Biden’s possible 226, which would give Trump a lead of 86 electoral votes.
