Speaking about President Donald J. Trump’s 2024 campaign efforts, a Biden campaign spokesperson made a statement so dishonest and puzzling that it’s hard to believe it’s real.

In a statement to The Hill on Wednesday, the spokesperson commented on Trump’s fundraising efforts.

“Donald Trump simply cannot keep up with Joe Biden: He’s too lazy to campaign, too toxic to generate enthusiasm or grassroots support, and too obsessed with his own personal revenge and retribution to expand his coalition. Open your eyes, Donald, the campaign has begun.”

For context, the campaign’s statement addressed Biden’s and Trump’s campaign fundraising. According to The Hill, Biden has outpaced Trump in both March fundraising and total cash on hand. While Biden entered April with $192 million in cash on hand, Trump kicked off the month with $93.1 million.

While cash in the bank is certainly advantageous and necessary to reach American voters, it is not always an indicator of enthusiasm. As the saying goes: Money isn’t everything.

If it was, Hillary Clinton would have won the 2016 presidential election with her $581 million in total campaign fundraising. Instead, Donald Trump won in a historic upset victory, raising just $340 million, including $66 million out of his own pocket, according to FEC data reported by Forbes.

As a political outsider, Trump won the election after raising just 58.5 percent of the cash Clinton had. And he did it with the charismatic delivery of a simple message that resonated deeply with Americans: Make America Great Again.

Whether it’s 2016, 2020, or 2024, President Trump’s campaign efforts cannot be overstated. The 45th president consistently holds massive rallies all across the country, attends fundraisers, and makes spontaneous campaign stops.

Since last Saturday alone, Trump has held a rally with 42,000 attendees in Pennsylvania, briefed the press multiple times in New York, visited a Harlem bodega, and met with the Polish prime minister. By this Saturday, he will also have delivered remarks at a rally in North Carolina. All while he is required to endure the hush money trial, which started Monday, for eight hours a day for four days a week for possibly the next two months.

President Trump’s packed schedule this week is a small representation that only scratches the surface of his campaign trail grit and work ethic.

To any reasonable American reading the Biden campaign’s statement, it is incredibly clear that it is attempting to deny the truth that Trump’s campaign has historic momentum fueled by his seemingly endless energy.
