U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported Tuesday that for the third consecutive month, no illegal immigrants have been released into the country, while encounters at the border have reached historic lows under President Donald Trump.

In July, CBP recorded 24,628 total encounters at the border, down from 170,180 in July 2024, making it the lowest monthly total in the agency’s history, according to the White House. No migrants were paroled into the U.S., compared to 12,365 during the same month last year.

“Under President [Donald] Trump, the border is the most secure it’s ever been in American history,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

“When you fortify the border, restore deterrence, and empower Border Patrol agents to do their jobs and enforce the laws on the books like President Trump has — this is the incredible result,” she added.

Border Patrol reported 4,601 encounters between ports of entry at the southern border in July, a 23 percent drop from June and a 90 percent decline compared to a year earlier.

The White House is prioritizing the arrest and removal of illegal immigrants with criminal records under Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and border czar Tom Homan. The increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations have coincided with what officials say is a 1,000 percent rise in assaults against ICE agents.

Trump also announced this week that he would federalize the Washington, D.C., police department and deploy the National Guard to the city to address crime, a move criticized by Democrats.

RSBN reported on Wednesday that the number of illegal immigrants living in the United States has declined by 1.6 million since President Donald Trump took office, according to a new report released Tuesday by the Center for Immigration Studies.

The findings, based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s monthly Current Population Survey, estimate the current illegal immigrant population at 14.2 million.

The total foreign-born population declined by 2.2 million between January and July, with most of that attributed to a drop in the number of illegal immigrants, the study said.
