Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., has publicly declared that he would run as President Donald Trump’s vice president for the 2024 election.

According to Breitbart, Donalds said “of course” he would accept the position as President Trump’s VP running mate.

He added, “Because you have the opportunity to do really powerful things for the country and really help shape the country.”

Donalds has been a loyal Trump supporter. He admitted in his Breitbart interview that he discussed “winning” with President Trump.

He said, “I’m about winning. I told the president, I told his team, ‘I’m behind you a hundred percent. It’s time to go win, and whatever it takes, I’m gonna go win.’”

Donalds has continued to press for America First policies. Just Thursday, he tweeted about the importance of President Trump’s call to initiate “peace through strength.”

He opposes the current handling of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and is a member of the House Oversight Committee — which is investigating alleged Biden family crimes.

Donalds also opposes ESG policies. He posted about this Wednesday noting, “There’s a chilling economic effect on the movement of capital into ESG funds & that effect is an anathema to the free market.”

President Trump has highlighted his belief in “peace through strength” and his economic policy is still being hailed by supporters.

Donalds also reminded voters in his Breitbart interview that not only has President Trump praised him, but he told the congressman, “From what I see you are going to be a star.”

For now, Donalds says, “I just do my job. I let everybody else speculate on the other stuff.”
