Fox News announced President Trump will sit down with hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum for a live town hall in Iowa this month.
The live event is scheduled for Jan. 10 in Des Moines, just days before the Iowa caucus and on the same night as the first GOP debate of 2024.
Instead of attending the debate, President Trump will spend his evening answering hard-hitting questions with Baier and MacCallum.
“It’s just five days ahead of the Iowa caucuses, and that is a big deal. He’s obviously trying to reach out to some voters,” Baier announced during a Fox News broadcast. The town hall will be like its own debate because Baier explains that President Trump will “answer some tough questions not only from us but also from voters in the crowd.”
The event just five days before the caucus is a good opportunity for President Trump to secure more support from moderate or undecided voters. Baier elaborates on this, saying, “As you know, the caucuses are different. You got to get together at firehouses and different places and come together to make your voice heard.”
So far, it appears President Trump has been doing a superb job at gaining support in the state, with a number of polls having released their results, and they all point to one thing: a victory for President Trump in the Hawkeye State.
A survey from CBS News shows that 58 percent of voters would vote for President Trump. Another poll by Insider Advantage also predicts a big win for President Trump in Iowa.
The town hall event will start at 9 p.m. ET.
