First Lady Melania Trump is set to receive the White House Christmas Tree next week as the nation eagerly waits to see how the nation’s lovely executive spouse will adorn the People’s House for the holiday season.
According to the Office of the First Lady, the tree is expected to arrive on Monday, November 24. The tree will be delivered by Korson’s Tree Farms, the winner of the 2025 National Christmas Tree Association Grand Champion Growers’ title.
The grand championship, for Korson’s Tree Farms, includes the honor of delivering one of their trees to the First Lady of the United States for use as the official White House Christmas tree. Owners Rex and Jessica Korson will present the tree to Mrs. Trump on Monday.
Remarkably, winners of the National Christmas Tree Association’s championship competition have presented a tree to the White House every year since 1966.
Before the national contest was sparked in the 1960s, Christmas was still celebrated at the White House, although not always with trees.
According to the White House Historical Association, the first Christmas tree was placed on the Second Floor of the White House in 1889, when Benjamin Harrison was president. The association also revealed that the first electric Christmas lights were likely used to decorate a tree in the White House in 1894, during President Grover Cleveland’s tenure – marking the recent installation of electricity in the People’s House.
Last year, the White House Christmas Tree was provided by national Christmas tree champions and brothers David, Sam, and Jim Carter.
During the first Trump administration, First Lady Melania Trump received several Christmas trees and spent considerable time designing and coordinating White House decorating efforts. The 2025 Christmas décor theme has not yet been announced.
