House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., fired off a letter this week that took aim at the White House’s obstruction of the impeachment inquiry that is looking at Biden and his family’s alleged financial boons from foreign overseas dealings.
According to the Oversight Committee, Rep. Comer sent a letter to Special Counsel Richard Sauber, renewing requests for Joe Biden to “provide information about his interactions with his son’s foreign business associates and calls on the White House to permit the National Archives and Records Administration to release all records pursuant to the Committee’s multiple requests, including Air Force 2 manifests, emails where Vice President Biden used an email alias to communicate with his son’s business associates…”
He also requested “all drafts” of Biden’s 2015 speech that he delivered to the Ukrainian parliament.
In the Oversight Committee’s official statement, they asserted that the Biden White House has “blocked current and former White House staff from testifying before the committee about President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.”
In March, Chairman Comer promised to invite Joe Biden to testify before the House Oversight Committee.
Per RSBN, Comer explained, “Joe Biden was either used by his family over and over again and paraded in front of his business partners to rake in millions of dollars, OR he knew EXACTLY what he was doing to enrich his family. Joe Biden was either complicit or incompetent, and the American people deserve to know which one it is.”
In his letter, Comer pointed out that the House Oversight Committee had made requests on August 17, August 30, and September 6 in 2023 pertaining to documents needed from NARA. However, they stated that the White House “has refused to permit” NARA from doing so.
“This week, the President Biden declined to testify publicly about his knowledge of and participation in his family’s business schemes and refused to provide information about his interactions with his son’s foreign business associates,” the letter revealed.
The committee concluded that the length of time the White House has waited to greenlight documents and even testimony “is no longer acceptable” and demanded that they raise any objections about releasing pertinent documents as soon as possible.
