A slew of judges are facing Articles of Impeachment after issuing questionable rulings regarding President Donald Trump’s policies on immigration, identity politics and government waste.
On Tuesday, Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Tex., filed Articles of Impeachment against Judge James Boasberg and shared the information to X, calling him a “radical activist judge” for ordering the return of any and all flights deporting illegal aliens.
Gill claimed, “He is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors and should be removed from office.”
According to the New York Post, Judge Boasberg’s temporary ruling was issued in response to a lawsuit filed by leftist activist groups the American Civil Liberties Union and Democracy Forward.
This comes after Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., filed Articles of Impeachment against two U.S. District Court “activist judges,” John Bates and Amir Hatem Mahdy Ali. He posted about his decision on Tuesday, noting, “It’s time to hold them accountable. Let’s get it done.”
Axios reported that Bates issued a temporary restraining order against President Trump’s executive order to end government diversity, equity and onclusion (DEI) policies that take race and gender identity into account in hiring and operations practices, on behalf of the Doctors for America organization.
Judge Ali ordered the Trump administration to resume funding foreign aid, ruling against President Trump’s 90-day pause on government spending for other nations, per Reuters.
Last month, Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Wis., introduced an Impeachment Resolution against Judge Paul Engelmayer of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, for “unlawfully” halting the 47th president’s implementation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., commented on the situation in an X post on Tuesday, noting, “I don’t remember voting for any federal judges last November.”
Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., also spoke out against “activist judges,” stating, “I voted for President Trump, not activist judges! Congress must impeach those obstructing the agenda Americans overwhelmingly supported.”
