Conservatives are livid with The Biden administration’s plan to give $1 billion in natural disaster aid to African nations, as thousands of Americans still haven’t recovered from Hurricane Helene and other disasters.
Conservative author and personality Juanita Broaddrick shared a clip of Biden making the announcement at the National Museum of Slavery in Angola on CBS News to X, on Tuesday. She called him out and then asked, “WHAT ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA?”
Journalist Nick Sortor laid out the lack of assistance that Americans have been given during the Biden administration when being devastated by natural disasters.
He stated, “People in East Palestine, Ohio have received almost ZERO assistance after the government nuked them. Victims of the Lahaina, Maui fire are being forced off the island. Western North Carolinas are LIVING IN LITERAL TENTS. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING??!”
Political Commentator Gunther Eagleman pointed out the disparity and noted, “This should boil your blood. It’s absolutely DISGUSTING!”
Conservative leaders have also weighed in on the situation. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., reminded her constituents about the families who lost loved ones during Hurricane Helene and are still struggling to receive assistance from FEMA.
“Meanwhile, we’ve got Americans still homeless, still struggling, and completely forgotten in the aftermath. North Carolina is seeing its first snowstorms of the season when people who lost their homes are living in tents, but Joe Biden says let’s not worry about that—after all, Africa is clearly the bigger priority,” she stated.
She called it a “slap in the face to everyone hurting from Hurricane Helene,” after explaining, “This is exactly why Donald Trump’s “America First” message resonated with so many voters and why he won big last month.”
“We’re sick of watching our money go abroad while our own people suffer.”
Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., decried this lack of care for Americans in need. He wrote, “Is Biden serious? Families in Florida and across our nation are waiting for disaster relief after their livelihoods were destroyed from hurricanes, but Biden flees to Africa and hands out tax dollars like candy.”
He then concluded, “We need President Trump and his America first priorities in office ASAP.”
RSBN reported that Hurricane Helene struck in September affecting multiple southern states including: North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. Hundreds of people went missing and over 2 million homes and businesses lost power, drawing President Trump to travel to the area and give aid.
