Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., may be feeling the scorching sting of MAGA rejection after his most recent comments on Monday in a sit-down interview with NBC News conflicted with what many Trump supporters tend to believe about the 2020 election.

“Of course he [Trump] lost…Joe Biden’s the president,” DeSantis stated, after being badgered to give a direct answer on his thoughts about the 2020 election.

President Donald Trump has often said that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen” and many proponents of election integrity feel that the election processes in many key battleground states nationwide were not entirely on the level.

In fact, a whopping 54 percent of U.S. likely voters believe that the coming 2024 presidential election will be influenced by election cheating, according to Rasmussen.

DeSantis’s stance on the issue will likely be a turn-off for many advocates of election security in America, especially as President Donald Trump was indicted last week on four federal charges related to an investigation into the events surrounding Jan. 6, 2021.

Trump spokesperson Liz Harrington wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “If you think Joe Biden got 81 million votes, you’re an idiot[.] If you’re just saying that, you’re either a coward or corrupt[.] Either way it’s disqualifying[.]”

Trump has powerfully derided the political motivations behind the investigation, accusing the Biden regime and the DOJ of “trying to make it illegal to question the results of a bad election…But only a party that CHEATS in elections would try to make it illegal…”

In contrast to Gov. DeSantis’s seeming rejection of Trump’s claims that the election was stolen, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., professionally addressed the same issue in remarks to the press last week.

He said, “In America, you are ENTITLED to raise a question. You’re entitled to question whether it was honest or not. That’s the uniqueness of the First Amendment. That’s the uniqueness of America. But you know what? You shouldn’t be prosecuted for your thoughts.”

Unfortunately for DeSantis, the Florida governor has fallen disastrously low in GOP primary political polling. In the most recent 2024 National Republican Primary data from FiveThirtyEight averages, Trump is leading among GOP voters by a whopping 39 points over DeSantis.
