The brother of Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz wrote that he is opposed to his brother’s political ideas and is considering a public endorsement of President Donald Trump.

Jeff Walz shared the comments on Facebook over the weekend that garnered widespread reactions from Trump supporters.

Walz originally posted on March 30, 2023, that, “We’ve just become a third world republic.”

A recent comment from a Facebook user named Liz O’Neil asked Walz to “Help MAGA… Get on stage with President Trump and endorse him…; Help save this country…”

The vice presidential candidate’s brother offered a surprising response.

“I’ve thought hard about doing something like that! I’m torn between that and just keeping my family out of it. The stories I could tell. Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future,” Walz wrote.

Walz also told the New York Post, “I’m 100% opposed to all his ideology.”

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., commented on the issue in the article for The Post.

“Tim Walz’s own brother knows his socialist ideology is dangerous for America. Together with Kamala Harris, inflation will get higher, the illegal immigration crisis will get worse and our nation will look more like Venezuela,” Malliotakis stated.

“Someone who puts tampons in boys’ bathrooms, lets their cities burn during defund police riots and taxes citizens saddled with debt to give illegal immigrants free tuition should not be in elected office, let alone vice president,” she added.

According to Newsmax, Walz has not spoken to his brother in eight years. He also received no advanced notification that his brother was selected as a running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris.

The outlet also noted that Jeff Walz donated $20 to Trump’s 2016 campaign and has never donated to his brother’s past campaigns.
