On July 2, Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, publicly urged Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race. He is the first congressman to make the call, which reflects the growing concern among top Democrat officials, big donors, and advisors about Biden’s lack of mental capacity to serve as their presidential candidate.
Doggett’s statement comes in the wake of Biden’s dismal debate performance filled with moments of confusion, which has sparked discussions to replace Biden due to his age and health.
He said:
“Recognizing that unlike Trump, President Biden’s first commitment has always been to our country, not himself, I am hopeful that he will make the painful and difficult decision to withdraw. I respectfully call on him to do so.”
During Biden’s press conference in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of presidential immunity on July 1, Biden showed apparent signs of his mental decline by reading directly from the teleprompter: “end of quote.”
Biden’s lack of mental competency is sending a shockwave of panic throughout the DNC as discussions are reportedly underway about possible alternative candidates who can step in as the party’s nominees. The coming months remain uncertain for the Democrats as they grapple with the best strategy moving forward.
President Trump remains unphased by what is considered the Democrats’ worst nightmare: Biden’s incompetency to run for a second term. The truth coming to light from behind closed doors as Biden’s own party starts to turn against him.
The ongoing drama of the Democrats’ predicament with what to do with Biden’s mental decline favors President Trump as he continues to forge a path towards victory on November 5 by focusing on his campaign only.
