Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., made a memorable appearance in New York on Saturday, rallying support for the Trump-endorsed gubernatorial GOP nominee of the Empire State, Lee Zeldin.

DeSantis stumped for Zeldin in front of a staggering crowd of thousands, urging New Yorkers to cast their votes for the Republican choice in a heated face-off between Zeldin and incumbent Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul.

According to Politico, DeSantis notably told rallygoers, “I would say the number one thing I hear, where people get so fed up, is they are sick and tired of the crime that you see, particularly in New York City. Florida is a law-and-order state. I am a law-and-order governor. If Lee Zeldin gets into office, New York will become a law-and-order state.”

Based on a Cherry Communications poll shared by Interactive Polls on Twitter, DeSantis is leading his Democrat challenger in Florida, former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, for reelection by 11 points.

“NY deserves a leader who will restore law & order,” DeSantis wrote on Twitter following the rally. “@leezeldin is the man for the job. Lee will also protect Nyers against irrational & liberty-infringing COVID mandates. The Zeldin victory on Nov 8th will be a shot heart ‘round the world!”

Most polls have Zeldin and Hochul locked in a tight race heading into the midterms next week, but some are predicting an upset in the blue-leaning stated after several years of Covid-related mandates, lockdowns, and rising crime.

In fact, a recent poll from co/efficient found that 45.6 percent of likely New York voters would cast their ballots for Zeldin over Hochul, who garnered 45.3 percent of the vote, per Breitbart.

As reported by RSBN, New York has not had a Republican governor since 2007. Lee Zeldin could be poised to shake the political establishment to its core on Nov. 8, especially with the powerful support of figures like President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis behind him.
