Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., will both be reelected to another term, per the Fox News Decision Desk.
As of 8:11 p.m. ET on election night, DeSantis led Democrat U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist 57-41, with 74.58 percent reporting.
As recent polling indicated, voters overwhelmingly preferred DeSantis over Democrat U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, who repeatedly attacked DeSantis for his response to Hurricane Ian yet had trouble attracting the support of even his own former colleagues and staff members.
Meanwhile, Rubio held a 55-43 lead over Democrat U.S. Rep. Val Demings when Fox News called his race.
Demings had attempted to position herself as a tough-on-crime moderate in the hopes of toppling the former presidential candidate.
Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz and Kat Cammack were also projected to win their races in Florida’s 1st and 3rd Congressional Districts, coasting to victory with commanding leads over their Democrat challengers.
