Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., slammed Joe Biden for the crisis at the southern border, which has enabled millions of illegal migrants to pour into American communities.
According to a report from Trending Politics, DeSantis stated on Wednesday that Biden should “be given an honorary membership in the Mexican drug cartels” because “nobody has done more to help the cartels than Biden with open-border policies.”
Florida’s governor is no stranger to taking shots at Joe Biden’s passivity in terms of the raging border crisis. In April, DeSantis said that he would “reroute” illegal immigrants to Biden’s hometown of Delaware if Biden did not step in to end the crisis.
DeSantis decried the massive amount of drugs pouring across the border in a town hall broadcast in Orlando with Laura Ingraham last month. He stated, “The fentanyl that’s coming across the border is affecting every state in this union. That’s why the number one cause of death for 18 to 45 is now fentanyl overdoses.”
Since taking office in 2021, the Biden administration has overseen a catastrophic uptick in migrant encounters at the border. In fact, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that their nationwide encounters that for the 2022 fiscal year, there had been a total of 1,478,977 nationwide encounters, which includes the southwest land border and the northern land border.
“Expulsions under Title 42 are not based on immigration status and are tracked separately from immigration enforcement actions, such as apprehension or inadmissibility, that are regularly reported by CBP,” their report stated.
DeSantis stated on Wednesday, “Those border communities are just getting killed in southern Texas with everything coming in.” Additionally, Trending Politics reported that DeSantis postulated he believes around 2.5 million people have entered the country illegally since Biden stepped into the Oval Office in 2021.
