Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., announced Wednesday that Florida has “passed concrete laws” to protect the Sunshine State against “Biden’s dereliction of duty.”

DeSantis stated on Twitter, “Biden’s Border Crisis constitutes a catastrophic failure of leadership.”

In a new campaign video, DeSantis highlighted the issues created by the Biden administration’s border policies and explained the steps Florida has taken to mitigate these challenges.

“January 20, 2021, also marked a period where this country under Joe Biden was going to open up the southern border,” said DeSantis. “What we have seen in the year and a half during this administration is over three million people illegally cross the U.S. Mexico border.”

DeSantis said Biden’s border policy has resulted in record human trafficking, drug trafficking, and sex trafficking.

Florida’s Senate Bill 1808, called “Immigration Enforcement,” was recently signed into law by DeSantis to protect Florida residents against the damage inflicted by the southern border crisis.

Florida is just one of several Republican states forced to take action to defend themselves against the impacts of the southern border crisis. Meanwhile, the Biden administration refuses to address the central issue of illegal immigration.

Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, has pressured Biden by bussing groups of illegal immigrants to Washington D.C. since April to draw attention to the border crisis. As the federal government continues its refusal to address the border crisis, individual states like Florida and Texas have taken a leading role.

As the border crisis grows and worsens America’s problems with drugs and crime, Joe Biden’s poll numbers continue to decline. According to Fox News, a Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday shows Joe Biden’s approval rating has hit a record low of 31 percent.

DeSantis presented a stark contrast between his administration and Biden’s, saying, “While Washington does nothing to stop the flow of illegal immigration into our states, Florida has passed concrete laws to defend our state against the consequences of Biden’s dereliction of duty.”
