Elon Musk announced on X Thursday night that he plans to attend President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturdday.
The event will be held at the same location where the first assassination attempt against Trump occurred on July 13.
With over 200 million followers on X, Musk posted, “I will be there to support!”
Musk first publicly endorsed Trump shortly after the July shooting.
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote on X.
Security will be increased following the previous shooting. Up to 60,000 people are expected to attend, according to the Secret Service.
The extra protection comes after Trump faced a second assassination attempt in Florida last month. He has also been the focus of Iranian assassination plots, according to multiple sources.
The event comes one month before election day. Pennsylvania remains a key swing state that Trump believes he must win to secure the electoral votes needed to win his comeback bid for the White House.
Trump also shared several X posts from Musk on his Truth Social account on Thursday night. One of the posts encouraged Pennsylvania voters to register ahead of the upcoming deadline.
“If you live in Pennsylvania and haven’t registered to vote, you only have 20 days left to do so! Please register to vote and ask your friends & family to do so too. This is a very important election,” Musk posted.
