A Trump campaign adviser addressed concerns over “games” with the Harris campaign on Monday as changes are reportedly being requested for the upcoming presidential debate.

Trump senior adviser Jason Miller shared a statement after President Donald Trump expressed questions about the Sept. 10 ABC debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The Harris camp, after having already agreed to the CNN rules, asked for a seated debate, with notes, and opening statements. We said no changes to the agreed upon rules,” Miller wrote in a statement to Fox News on Monday.

“If Kamala Harris isn’t smart enough to repeat the messaging points her handlers want her to memorize, that’s their problem. This seems to be a pattern for the Harris campaign. They won’t allow Harris to do interviews, they won’t allow her to do press conferences, and now they want to give her a cheat-sheet for the debate. My guess is that they’re looking for a way to get out of any debate with President Trump. Regardless, there’s no way Harris is ready to be Commander in Chief,” he added.

Miller also took to X to question the debate change requests.

“Last week the Harris campaign said the debate about debates was over. Now that they’ve started their debate prep with Harris, they’re wanting to change the rules. What is it they’re seeing that has them worried?” he asked.

The concerns over the upcoming ABC debate also arose after Trump questioned whether he should participate. He expressed his accusations in a pointed post on Truth Social Monday that referred to ABC as fake news.

“I watched ABC FAKE NEWS this morning, both lightweight reporter Jonathan Carl’s(K?) ridiculous and biased interview of Tom Cotton (who was fantastic!), and their so-called Panel of Trump Haters, and I ask, why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network?” he asked.

“Will panelist Donna Brazil give the questions to the Marxist Candidate like she did for Crooked Hillary Clinton? Will Kamala’s best friend, who heads up ABC, do likewise. Where is Liddle’ George Slopadopolus hanging out now? Will he be involved. They’ve got a lot of questions to answer!!! Why did Harris turn down Fox, NBC, CBS, and even CNN? Stay tuned!!!” he continued.

Harris previously agreed to two presidential debates with Trump, though the second date has not been confirmed. Her vice presidential running mate Tim Walz is set for one interview with Trump’s running mate JD Vance on Oct. 1.

The ABC debate is scheduled for Sept. 10 at 9 pm. Eastern Time in Philadelphia. It will be held at the National Constitution Center.
