At the heart of the Christian religion lies faith and salvation through Jesus Christ. For centuries, the faith Christians have in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior has separated them from the rest of the world. The common factor is always faith, whether Perpetua’s loyalty or Justin Martyr’s awe at Christians’ resilience.

The motto of “In God We Trust” or “One nation under God” best solidifies the mindset of patriotic Christians. Can President Donald Trump make America a Christian nation? No, but he can help safeguard the principles and ideas directly connected to the country’s founding and its historical connection to the faith.

Faith

Throughout the last several decades, an increasingly rare divide has taken place under the American political landscape in which most Christians were forced into one particular voting party, the conservative wing of the Republican Party.

Both present-day and past Christians consider their faith the top priority and sole source of hope in life. In our secular society, protecting the Christian faith is the most important factor in any election. Although religious freedom is in place, there are worrisome indications of a potential challenge from a big government that opposes Christian beliefs. Christians can find hope in President Trump’s loyalty and belief in religious liberty, believing he will protect their faith.

Family

Christians also emphasize family, which, after God, is the most essential part of their lives. President Trump understands the importance of traditional Christian family values, having proven his dedication to his children, which even his opponents acknowledge the success and honor his children bring to his family legacy.

Within the idea of a small government, President Trump reiterates that religious freedom protects families, whether it be in homeschooling, protecting the right to life, or the morality found within the Christian faith. Presidents of the past have always commented on the declining morality of the nation.

The answer to combating this is always found within Christianity and the togetherness and faithfulness of the Christian family unit. Trump understands this and acknowledges that the American Dream revolves around family.

Freedom

Finally, the freedom that Americans have continues to separate them from other nations of the globe. It is no coincidence that people from all over the world continue to migrate to the U.S. For those who complain about their lives in America, lest they forget the horrifying pictures of the Afghanistan withdrawal, where people lost their lives begging the U.S. troops to stay in their land.

Freedom is found in Jesus Christ. Sure, freedom from sin is the underlying message. However, the Founders connected this freedom to the notion of justice and liberty for everyone. The principles of the American Revolution still apply: freedom from tyranny and government control.

Christians seek a peaceful land where they can worship and live in solace without fear of an overbearing government. President Trump acknowledged such freedom and was a champion of both the First and Second Amendments.

His commitment to protecting religious liberties allows families to practice their faith openly and raise their children in a free society. By fighting for the rights of individuals and promoting a government that respects personal freedoms, Trump resonates deeply with those who value the sanctity of faith and family in America.
