The FBI has finally agreed to cooperate with an ongoing investigation into an alleged bribery scheme linked to Joe Biden at the behest of the House Oversight Committee by handing over a subpoenaed FD-1023 form.
As previously reported by RSBN, Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., who is the acting chairman of the Oversight Committee, had stated that he intended to initiate contempt charges against the FBI for their defiance of a congressional subpoena on Monday.
However, this week, the FBI caved to Comer’s request, and the scheduled contempt of Congress markup has been canceled, via the Oversight Committee.
Rep. Comer issued the following statement regarding the FBI’s cooperation with House Republicans:
“After weeks of refusing to even admit the FD-1023 record exists, the FBI has caved and is now allowing all members of the Oversight and Accountability Committee to review this unclassified record that memorializes a confidential human source’s conversations with a foreign national who claimed to have bribed then-Vice President Joe Biden. Americans have lost trust in the FBI’s ability to enforce the law impartially and demand answers, transparency, and accountability. Allowing all Oversight Committee members to review this record is an important step toward conducting oversight of the FBI and holding it accountable to the American people.”
On Thursday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., posted a video on Twitter that showed her walking to the SCIF to view the FD-1023 form.
“I’m headed to the SCIF to view the UNclassified FD-1023 FBI form implicating Joe Biden in a political bribery pay-to-play scheme,” she wrote. “The document the FBI says is too dangerous for the American people to see.”
In Comer’s statement, he emphasized, “Let’s be clear: the allegations contained within this record are not closed as the White House and Democrats would have the American people believe…The allegations contained within this record track closely with the Oversight Committee’s investigation of the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes. The Oversight Committee will continue to follow the facts and ensure accountability for the American people.”
