First Lady Melania Trump made an appearance in the Golden State in December to support two Republican groups, attending a private dinner as a guest of the Log Cabin Republicans.
“We are so thankful for the continued support of former First Lady @MELANIATRUMP for our organization and her leadership continuing the projects she worked on while in the White House,” the Log Cabin Republicans Twitter account shared last week.
According to an exclusive report from the California Globe, Mrs. Trump also met with supporters of the former Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell’s GOP group, “Fix California.”
“Fix California” is an initiative kickstarted by Grenell with three major goals: securing the election processes, advocating for Californian excellence, and engaging with voters in the Golden State. “Fix California is committed to pursuing longterm solutions that advance conservative ideas and causes through out the state,” their website explained. “The left’s stranglehold on our state has decimated industries, families, and our way of life. In order to restore the promise of the Golden State, we must do the hard work now.”
Notably, the official website also highlighted the importance of maintaining election integrity:
“Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our Republic. In California, state and county election officials have abandoned their responsibility to protect our elections and ensure that the voices of Californians are heard. Fix California is committed to holding these officials accountable and establishing a better process that protects every vote.”
The First Lady told the California Globe that it was an “honor” to travel to California to meet with the two Republican groups. “…I have consistently backed the Log Cabin Republicans’ objective to promote an inclusive society,” she told the outlet. “Fix California’s long-term objective, which is to boost voter turnout, and is an essential element of a democratic society, and very significant to me.”
In 2021, Mrs. Trump received the Spirit of Lincoln award from the Log Cabin Republicans for her work toward both equality and diversity in the U.S., as reported by RSBN.
