First Lady Melania Trump has triumphed again for the greater good amid the successful reunification of Russian and Ukrainian children with their parents, amid the ongoing war in Eastern Europe.

The White House confirmed that this is Mrs. Trump’s third reunification event.

“I appreciate that Russia and Ukraine are dedicated to bringing back the children who have been displaced because of the circumstances surrounding this conflict,” the First Lady said in an official statement.

She continued, “Although all parties are cooperating and our communications remain robust, I urge Russia and Ukraine to intensify their efforts to ensure the safe return of every child to their families and guardians.”

The reunification of children in the war-torn regions of Ukraine and Russia has been a top priority for Mrs. Trump as she has returned to the White House. Last year, she addressed a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin in a heartfelt appeal to protect Russian and Ukrainian children affected by the ongoing conflict.

That letter marked the beginning of ongoing coordination between her office and Russian and Ukrainian representatives in the effort to protect war-affected children.

As reported by RSBN, the First Lady previously assisted in the return of seven Ukrainian children to their families, and in October, eight more.

“Today marks the third reunification since I have been working strategically with both nations,” Mrs. Trump said in her statement. “I have no doubt more progress will come.”

The First Lady has historically been extremely involved in advocating for the well-being and protection of children with her two major initiatives, Be Best and Fostering the Future.

Just this week, she visited The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health, taking time to celebrate Valentine’s Day with children undergoing treatment for severe illnesses.
