First Lady Melania Trump has been busy preparing for the release of her documentary film “Melania,” giving her the opportunity to spend more time in the media and express her views on her husband’s administration.
“I give him my advice and, you know, we talk about that, and we could see that the country, it’s divided, and it’s very hard no matter what he says,” she told Fox News in a special sit-down with Maria Bartiromo.
Mrs. Trump said of those who oppose her husband, “They don’t like to listen, and what’s going on in our country now, I feel that it’s a lot of pushback. And I hope it stops. I think he’s doing a fantastic job, he’s had great success. He’s a unifier. He’s positive thinking, forward thinking. He wants to put this country in the order that everybody can live here freely, and not in danger.”
Amid the media fervor surrounding the president’s hardline stance on immigration enforcement, the First Lady said, “He would like to have a country where all of the people can walk down the street and not be harassed or murdered, or women raped. I think it’s very important, and what happened [a] few years ago, so many criminals came over the border, and [Trump] closed the border now a while back already. And we need to take care of our citizens.”
On Wednesday, Mrs. Trump even talked about the influence that her son, Barron Trump, has had on President Trump’s leadership in the White House for this second term, and even during the 2024 campaign.
“I’m very proud of him, and he’s an incredible young man,” she said. “He understands now. He’s involved. He knows what’s going on in the world. He talks with his dad, he talks with me. He was very involved in the campaign. He gave him all of the ideas, who he needs to talk to, all of these YouTubers, and you know, podcasts. So, he was really a smart mind behind it.”
The First Lady’s documentary will be released on Friday. Ahead of its launch, she hosted a private screening of the film at the White House and even rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
The film will catalogue her experiences and preparations in the 20 days leading up to the historic second inauguration of her husband in January 2025.
