“In America, the impossible is what we do best.”
This phrase, uttered by the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, stood out as a triumphant and soaring message on Monday during his Inaugural Address, as he was sworn in for an unprecedented second term in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol.
His address touched a bit on his agenda, where he discussed his top priorities for the coming weeks and months, but it also painted a vision of an America unburdened by poisonous identity politics, radical social engineering, warmongering, corruption, stilted scales of justice and incompetency.
The standout moments from the president’s speech were focused on promise, hope, and unity. “We stand on the verge of the four greatest years in America history,” he told the crowd.
The inauguration itself paid homage to the godly and cherished heritage of this great nation. A piano rendition of the hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” filled the rotunda as the assembled crowd waited for the president to take the stage, evoking a titular message that many Americans likely feel capture this historic moment in history: “Great is thy faithfulness, Oh God my father. There is no shadow of turning with thee. All I have needed thy hand hath provided, great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.”
Another performance of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” roused the audience and lifted the spirits of those in attendance – and certainly for the millions watching the inauguration at home. The ceremony was a celebration of American strength, the peaceful transition of power, and the dawn of a new American era – or as President Trump called it, the dawn of a “Golden Age.”
“Ambition is the lifeblood of our great nation,” President Trump said. “If we work together, there is nothing we cannot do and no dream we cannot achieve.”
His address challenged the status quo of failure and corruption and asked Americans to envision a world where they were successful, wealthy, safe, and prosperous.
“We will not be deterred,” he promised.
President Trump cast a vision of an America that would breed success for everyday citizens, far and wide. “To every parent who dreams for their child and to every child who dreams for their future, I am with you, I will fight for you, and I will WIN for you – we’re going to WIN like never before.”
He encouraged Americans to be filled with “compassion, courage, and exceptionalism,” and he also made a few impactful declarations. “We will not be conquered, we will not be intimidated, we will not be broken, and we WILL NOT FAIL” he remarked.
President Trump said the United States would be, from this moment forward, a sovereign and independent nation.
“Nothing will stand in our way because we are AMERICANS. The future is ours and our Golden Age has just begun,” he said.
Monday’s inauguration was a pivotal turning point for the country. It marked a moment when the United States turned away from failure and welcomed revival. “The American people have spoken,” Trump commented during his speech.
Indeed, America has spoken. The people are ready to be successful, courageous, and unstoppable once again, and with President Trump in the White House on this sacred day, the possibilities – and the dreams of our future – are truly limitless.
