President Donald Trump’s strong performance on CNN’s town hall event Wednesday night has garnered the support and applause of leaders in the Republican Party.

Following Wednesday’s town hall performance, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., a vocal supporter of the 45th president, quickly showed her admiration for Trump’s strong performance on a network known for its hostility toward conservative voices.

“I’m so proud of President Trump tonight, GREAT JOB,” she said. “He is truly showing everyone why he is the president America needs.”

Greene commended Trump’s decision to engage in a town hall event with CNN, despite the network attacking him “more than anyone.” She also drew a distinction between Joe Biden and Trump, particularly in relation to Biden’s repeated refusal to take questions from the press.

“Biden won’t even talk, can’t even talk to the press,” she said. “But President Trump loves this country and is showing he’s willing to fight for it.”

Gov. Jim Justice, R-W.Va., also applauded Trump’s performance at the televised CNN town hall, saying, “President Trump dominated the CNN Town Hall tonight. Make no mistake President Trump will be a fighter for hardworking West Virginians.”

After CNN’s town hall event with Trump, several of the media network’s hosts claimed the reason polls are showing strong support for the 45th president is that he has “lied” to the American people.

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., who has endorsed the 45th president’s 2024 bid for the White House, immediately pushed back against CNN’s hosts, saying, “He actually did the job. You know that, and frankly, he did the job better than the current president right now, and that is indisputable. Name the issue. Donald Trump did it better.”

In addition to the 45th president’s support from members of the GOP, Trump enjoyed consistent applause and positive feedback from the live audience all throughout CNN’s town hall event. The crowd even welcomed Trump with a standing ovation.

In a post on Truth Social after the event Wednesday night, Trump thanked the audience for their enthusiastic participation in the event. “Hope everyone enjoyed CNN tonight,” he said. “The New Hampshire audience was AMAZING. Thank you!”
