Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently warned that Democrats are likely to reimpose Covid-related restrictions should they keep control of Congress after the midterm elections.
DeSantis made these comments at a recent Expand American Energy forum in Doral, Florida. He stated that Democrats would impose mandates and restrictions right after the elections if they felt necessary.
“And so that will happen. If those types of people are allowed to be put in power, my view on that is, they’ve put Fauci in the witness protection program because he will say, you know, no, you should still wear a mask, and he’s never going to say be normal, go back to normal. So they know that, and they know that that’s not what people want.”
The governor has long advocated for individual choice and has vehemently opposed mandates and restrictions. During a panel discussion with Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joesph Ladapo and several other medical experts last week, DeSantis called for an end to Covid restrictions, noting that “there is no place in Florida for COVID theater.”
To avoid these likely mandates and restrictions, DeSantis emphasized the importance of a red wave in November, enabling Republicans to retake control of one or both chambers of Congress and prevent the Democrats from imposing power and control over the American people.
The thirst for unfettered power and control has been the driving force behind all the Democrats’ policies and decisions. For example, they want to federalize the nation’s elections and voting laws. They want to control the nation’s highest court by way of packing it with far-left activist justices. Finally, they want to eliminate the filibuster to pass their far-left bills.
For the Democrats, it is all about power and control. The restrictions and mandates are no different. Some believe that Democrats used Covid as an opportunity to push their far-reaching vote-by-mail campaign before and during the 2020 elections. This, too, appeared to be an effort to control the election process.
There is no reason to doubt what DeSantis is saying, given the Democrats’ track record. If Democrats retain control of Congress, they will likely reimpose or implement mandates and restrictions, which would be disastrous for America and Americans on many levels.
