President Trump was enjoying a game of golf with Steve Witkoff on Sunday when gunfire broke out in his vicinity, forcing him off the course. After speaking with both President Trump and Witkoff, Hannity described what happened.

Per Hannity, gunshots rang out outside of the golf course near where President Trump and Witkoff were playing on Sunday. “Within seconds, the Secret Service pounced on the president, covered him,” he said. Snipers with tripods knew the direction and location where the shots were fired, Hannity added.

The gun has been found and it was identified as an AK-47, according to law enforcement officials, said Hannity. They were able to identify a suspect who got into a car after dropping the weapon. Hannity could not confirm whether the suspect was apprehended.

“The first thing the president did when he got back to the clubhouse was make sure that everybody else was OK,” said the Fox host. He added that as President Trump was rushed to safety, the president repeatedly asked “Where’s Steve?” when he didn’t see his golf partner with him.

Hannity continued, “And then Steve said, ‘I’m right here,'” when he came in a few minutes after the president. Everyone else was safely removed from the golf course.

Once President Trump learned that everyone with him was safe, he said, “I really wanted to finish the hole. I was even, and I had a birdie putt,” according to Hannity, who described the president’s “fight, fight, fight” outlook on the situation.

The Trump campaign issued a statement Sunday afternoon confirming President Trump was safe amid the shooting in his vicinity.
