The Trump Campaign released a statement on Sunday afternoon confirming that President Trump is “safe following gunshots in his vicinity,” according to Steven Cheung, Trump Campaign Communications Director.

“No further details at this time,” he added.

The New York Post reported that the Secret Service is responding to a shooting that happened as President Trump was leaving his golf course in West Palm Beach. Law enforcement sources tell the outlet that two people reportedly exchanged gunfire outside of Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach.

“The shooters were targeting each other, and the gunfire was not targeting Trump,” the New York Post wrote, per the sources. The Post’s sources also tell them that President Trump was not in danger. These reports have not been confirmed.

Conflicting reports from CNN suggest that the shots fired at Trump International Golf Club were intended for President Trump. The outlet has also reported that an AK-47 and GoPro camera were found at the scene of the shooting.

The gunfire in President Trump’s vicinity on Sunday comes just about two months after President Trump survived an assassination attempt at his rally on July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more information as details emerge.
